MOJO, the band

Paul Norris–Drums & Percussion

Paul Norris--Drums & Percussion

Paul is the “heartbeat” of Mojo (or, as he says, “at least the left ventricle”) and the band’s newest member. He is a native Texan, although so far has refrained from wearing Dallas Cowboys gear to gigs and irritating our fans. Unlike most rock drummers (who just hang around musicians), Paul IS actually a very qualified musician and award-winning music educator. He has extensive experience teaching music and directing school bands in Texas, and (currently) for Arlington Public Schools. He is also one of the directors of the Levine School of Music in Arlington. And as a former snare drummer with the “Commandant’s Own” US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, Paul is also trying to teach the rest of the band to march in step and the difference between right and left feet. Mojo is glad to have Paul on board – but when you see him at a gig, just don’t ask him to play “Ravel’s Bolero”!
