Some Previous Gigs:
MOJO's Summer tour 2008 continued with shows at Brother's Encore on June 28th and OASIS on the 4th of July. Beer, crabs, and rock & roll - It doesn't get any better than that. The band added a current Pink favorite, "Who Knew", and an older Billy Idol tune "Dancing By Myself". We finished Summer tour by playing several pool parties - very cool; And "drum roll please" playing on the main stage at Tim's Rivershore WATERSTOCK - what a blast. Pix will be posted shortly.
On May 3rd, MOJO rocked the barn. This was our first time playing at the barn(s). Several tunes were added including the popular "Cheeseburger In Paradise" and the Porgy & Bess tune "Summertime" featuring Martha on vocals. Yes we listen to your suggestions, so we added a few more slow tunes for you Mojoheads wanting to slow dance.
On April 12th, MOJO played at the reopening of Knight of Columbus hall. Many dignitaries were on hand for this event including several County Supervisors. The band was even blessed. Yikes, it didn't hurt all all :-)
MOJO made it's debut at OASIS April 4th, and a great time was had by all. It was truly something special. Mojoheads packed the house at a much larger venue than usual, and danced up a storm. What a
great crowd. THANK YOU! We added a few new tunes and had a great time playing from a real stage - the servers and even the bouncers were be-bopping to the music. The band was invited back for the 4 th of July.
MOJO opened it's 2008 tour at Brothers Encore Feb 23rd, 2008 and introduced some newer material - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen, "The Ocean" and "Misty Mountain Hope" by Zeppelin, "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC and "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones. The Encore was packed from the start. We can not thank the loyal Mojo-Heads enough for their support.
Here's a run-down: We started with "Pride and Joy" and Brian's new Tele sounded great, then into a recently revamped "Brass In Pocket" and we were off to a good start with Martha's awesome vocals leading the way. Joe kept threatening the crowd with his joke book, but the band quickly responded to each lull in the action before Joe gets a chance to crack the book open. "Who Says You Can't Go Home" sounded better than ever. "Sweet Home Alabama" has the crowd just itching to dance, but somehow they retained their cool even through Mike's sweet solos. The rest of the set went well and included Mojo fav's like "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Changes In Attitudes" (Mike leading the vocal charge on all the Buffett) and "Shaky Ground." We closed with "Rock-N-Roll" by Zeppelin.
MOJO opened the second set with "Mony Mony" and Greg and Denis laid down a fat danceable groove that had people moving in their seats, desperate to dance. Martha belted out "Say That You Love Me" and some of Martha's students can't help but to groove. It's hard to tell Mojo-Heads to not dance to "Brown Eyed Girl"! Brian made his Mojo singing debut with the Ramones song. We closed with "Highway to Hell" and "Born to be Wild."
The third set cruised by opening with Brian's guitar solo into "You Really Got Me". We hit fan favorites like "Tax Man," "I Love Rock-n-Roll" and "Hard To Handle" and "Takin' Care Of Business" with guest singer Sue's help on vocals for much of the last part of the set. We did a second reading of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" as well as first time readings of "Misty Mountain Hop" and "The Ocean." The Zep is in our blood, and we play "Rock-n-Roll" again despite the fact that we had more than two sets of material that we haven't played as it approach 1 AM.
Over all it was a great way to start the 2008 campaign. Thanks to all in attendance. Feel free to leave us comments on the show at http://www.myspace.com/mojovirginia
What a hoot! MOJO's 2007 Halloween Party bash on Oct 27th at Brother's Encore saw 23 contestants in costume. Lots of pirates. The Summer tour concluded on September 7th with a 4-hour sold-out performance for Prince William Soccer on the artificial turf field named for our lead guitarist's father - James Claffey. A quick thanks to all who came out to see MOJO at Down Under on February 24th 2007. It is always a blast playing there. Mario the bartender totally rocks. The group introduced five new tunes. "Losing My Religion" sounded particularly good with Mike playing acoustic guitar and singing. A shout out to Tom Gross (check out his myspace) who played between sets and sang "Before You Accuse Me" with us. Denis and Greg laid down their typical solid foundations on "Hard to Handle", Martha was in fine form belting out "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" which is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Brian got a chance to break out his Charvel guitar (an old Eddie Van Halen-ish style guitar) during the third set, and rocked tha bar with "You Really Got Me" thang...

Our last gig of the summer was at the Holy Family Fun Festival on September 6th, 2003. It was great fun for both the audience and the band even though the band's last set was cut short by the Prince William County's finest. They may have been playing a bit loud at 10:30pm. - "Do you know where your MOJO is?
